2 weeks visit in Japan (Tokyo & Sendai).

Palace Hotel Tokyo (Japan)

Remarks (July 5, 2024):
I arrived Japan (flight from Los Angeles, USA) yesterday. Surprise that Tokyo is hotter than southern California !
Will stay in Japan for 2 weeks, I week in Tokyo, 1 week in Sendai.
Same as previous trips, I am staying in the same suite in Palace Hotel Tokyo. Will go to Sendai on 9th. This will be the first time I visit Sendai, should be interesting, new place to explore!

Remarks (July 2024):
It's white 紫陽花 in the hotel lobby during my stay this time, they changed it to purple on my check-out day.
I like white color clothes, but not white flowers. I like pink or red flowers. For 紫陽花, I like purple.

 

 

Remarks (July 2024):
Enjoyable breakfast in Palace Hotel Tokyo, traditional Japanese style.
Although breakfast is inclusive (free), I seldom have it because I get up late. Only on check-out day, I have breakfast sometimes.

Dinner (8 courses 懐石料理) at 風花 restaurant in Conrad Hotel (Tokyo) (July 2024).
Food was nicely presented. Excellent view of the waterfront and 浜離宮恩賜庭園 from the restaurant.

Dinner 懐石料理 at Nadaman in Shangri-la Hotel (Tokyo) (July 2024)
I chose the 9-courses 'Nadaman Special Kaiseki'.
The food was tasty, but I was not keen on fusion style cuisine, eg foie gras with truffle is French, not Japanese. Although I like French cuisine, I dislike 'mixed' cuisine. Would be better if the menu describes all the courses, to avoid shock.
People like to ask why I visit Japan, same as usual I answered 'to attend concert'. This time the staff asked me: 'are you singing? or watching?'
Unusual question, though quite amusing.

Remarks (July 2024):
Dinner (8 courses 懐石料理) at 一舞庵 in Westin Hotel (Sendai, Japan).
I chose the restaurant's 30 years celebration menu 鈴蘭. The food presentation & taste were good.
The beef was done exactly the way I like (medium rare, red inside with no blood on the plate).
For sashimi, I actually prefer room-temperature (instead of on-ice), the ice hide away some of the fish flavor.
Nice view of Sendai city from the restaurant, though I like the view from my suite more (with river, mountain & city view).

 

 

 

仙台城跡 (Sendai, Japan)

Remarks (July 2024):
仙台城跡 (Sendai, Japan) certainly worth visiting, lots to see (historic monuments).
Nice view of Sendai city from hill top.
Famous writer 魯迅 statue is also in the area.

 

 

 

Shopping District (Sendai, Japan)

Remarks (July 2024):
Pet shop in Sendai (Japan). かわいい puppies !
Very tempted to get one... especially the white one, trying to come out to play!
First time I visit pet shop in Japan.

 

 

Remarks (July 2024):
Although this looks to be a simple cafe, the Green Tea ice-cream was very good... so good that I went there 2 times.
For soft ice-cream, the shop offeres different levels of green tea strength.  I chose the strongest level.  Inside the ice-cream, there are some green tea 'particles', gives a very nice strong flavor.
